Hakuba Goryu’s 31st of December @Macha2020.01.01
We have finally reached New Year’s Eve.
Unfortunately, it was raining at Goryu this morning.
But when the rain stopped, a rainbow appeared at the top of the mountain!
It was also lightly raining on the Alps Daira, which made the snow a little wet.
With the passing of time, the light rain gradually turned to snow.
During the afternoon, the snow hardened, and the visibility lowered as a strong blizzard approached.
As the blizzard increased in intensity, more than 5cm of snow had fallen after the afternoon.
Tomorrow, the Alps Daira area will be in good condition for skiing. (From what we can tell)
However, we cannot be sure about the condition of the Tomi Slopes.
Towards the end of the lift operating hours, a strong wind of around 20m/s started blowing.
All the lifts on Alps Daira had to be closed.
Due to the mountain descent course still being closed, we had to guide our guests while telling them “Please ride the Gondola as soon as possible before it ends up closing!”.
Everyone, have a good year!
We will greet the new year with a ‘safety first’ mindset.
